Here’s the finished sockets. I have subsequently cleaned up the faceplate and box. The faceplate had spent a few years in a garage.
It looks a little less likely to be the cause of a fire now.
I am not able to reduce the wires (except maybe the usb one!) because the relay needs 12 volts to throw the switch.
